Bible Study |
With Wijith DeChickera in the Parish Hall, every Friday from 6 o’clock to around 7.30 p.m.
The Bible Study Group has been meeting regularly over the years to discover and explore the riches of God’s Word. In the past they have studied themes such as Christian Living in the Book of James, topics like Social Justice as found in Amos, the little understood subject of Heaven and Hell and what a believer can expect in the life to come, that great story of God’s saving grace among God’s people that we know today as salvation history, Paul’s best articulated theological thinking in Romans, and how to get the most from the Word… |
| Most recently, the group – which has varied in number from a handful to over 20, and has now settled down to 12-15 every week – undertook to mine the book of Nehemiah for Lessons in Leadership for Daily Living. |
At present, they are working towards developing an applicable theology of discipleship from the Gospel of Mark. This they are doing by learning how the writer used the technique of ‘sandwiches’ – which has provided those in the parish and beyond some food for thought!
